All About Neurotechnology Companies

Neurotechnology companies are starting to become a term quite familiar to the common people. Diffuse neurotechnology is nowadays a growing field of neuroscience, developed to enhance brain performance and well-known health. These technologies are non-invasive, meaning they do not involve surgery or drug deposition and tend to be cost-effective. As digital health technology expands beyond hospitals and research facilities, well-known digital tools are becoming more accessible to the general consumer. Neurotechnology companies claim the science to be safe with a few negative side effects. The development of diffuse neurotechnology nevertheless includes some considerations: philosophical, ethical, scientific and business.

Some of these concerns are discussed and addressed to ensure that its applications are optimized and positioned to better serve the public. Neurotechnology is becoming an important area of business development and there are new patents that are constantly being filed in this area. Between 2000 and 2009, only 400 patents were filed by neurotechnology companies. The number rose to 800 in 2009, and rose to a whopping 1,600 in 2014, signaling a rapid increase in activity. According to SharpBrains - an independent market research firm that analyzed more than 10,000 patents from 800 different companies - there are currently 8,000 active patents in the field and another 5,000 pending patents. Nielsen, a company known for its consumer research on what people watch and buy, has been recognized as the leading patent holder in diffuse neurotechnology.
